This position will cultivate, steward and expand relationships between the college and its donors at all levels by providing extraordinary service to donors as well as maintaining and managing donor information. It serves as Campaign Manager during major gift campaigns. The program will focus on specific areas of interest for major donors and communicate the college's vision and strategic direction ensuring our major stakeholders are actively engaged with the college. Specific responsibilities include: providing management and guidance for the day-to-day operations of the college's Advancement/Foundation office; performing extensive professional research of donors and prospects; integrating information into proposals and resource development plans; strategizing with College President, Executive Director and Board Members in the design of effective communications to donors; managing and directing a defined program of donor appreciation and ongoing stewardship that effectively enhances and deepens relationships with our donors and prospects; managing major gifts campaigns by coordinating a wide variety of activities that serve the College President, the Executive Director of IA and the College Foundation, committees, volunteers, and the Board; developing error free, professional communications to donors and prospects, including but is not limited to preparing visual and written reports and donor correspondence; preparing regular activity updates, presentations and financial summary reports to be presented at committee and Board meetings; developing donor background reports for the college President, the Executive Director of IA and the College Foundation, Advancement Officers, Board members and volunteers; providing donor history and summaries of research in advance of donor visits that incorporate strategy and meaningful donor visit background information; recording gifts accurately as received (including online giving system); tracking gifts in donor database (Raiser's Edge); writing complex database reports for the College President, the Executive Director of IA and the College Foundation and the Foundation Board; coordinating annual audit for the Foundation; working with financial institutions, brokerage firms, and College Finance Department to ensure accuracy of all financial data, accuracy and timeliness of donor equity transfers – preparing bank deposits, forwards reconciling items, ensuring internal control system works effectively; managing college invoice ensuring accurate reporting and accountability of commitments; preparing monthly dashboard reports for the Board to summarize donations levels as well as use of foundation funded initiatives; managing the scholarship and endowment program including processing agreements, database management, scholarship, and donor promotion; maintaining online scholarship system; ensuring accuracy of financial and donor details; assisting Scholarship Committee annually in set up and coordination of rating student applications; communicating scholarship awards to donors; preparing endowment reports to be delivered and communicated to donors; supervising the Administrative Associate; covering duties during absences; writing complex data queries and writing reports in the Datatel System for the Executive Director's knowledge; providing support at foundation events; participating in college meetings and professional development activities; serving on committees as requested and performing other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree. Five years' progressively responsible experience in nonprofit management and fundraising activities. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to the development office conflict of interest and confidentiality policy. Knowledge in fundraising and proper accounting and recordkeeping practices. Possesses advanced level of database skills (Raiser's Edge Preferred) Also demonstrates an advanced understanding of all Microsoft Office Suite products. Effectively uses data research products and the Internet to conduct donor research and profiling. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse constituents including faculty, staff, students, Foundation board of directors, and donors. Demonstrated organization skills. Ability to coordinate projects/activities including managing volunteers. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and implement work schedule effectively. Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Excellent technical knowledge of computers, database software and its potential use in the development office. Supervisory skills. Ability to coordinate projects/activities including managing volunteers. Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Fundraising Database, Raiser preferred). Available for work on some weekends and evenings. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
SALARY: Grade 8 on the 12-Month Salary Scale. Minimum starting salary range is $36,925 - $49,671 with actual salary placement based on credentials. Includes excellent fringe benefit package.
